About the Fiber Artist

Welcome! My name is Tara and I'm a lifelong creator, beach lover and the hands behind TaraMadeCrochet.

Crochet has always been more than just a hobby craft to me. It's my calm, one of two creative outlets for me and an artistic way of bringing joy and a smile to others. I am completely self-taught specializing in Amigurumi, a Japanese art form crocheting or knitting stuffed animals, dolls and inanimate objects like plants and food. I love to create handmade, playful plushies full of personality, charm and sentiment. Every creation is carefully hand stitched by me with attention to detail and a piece of my heart!

Living on the coast has been so inspiring to me often influencing what designs I choose to make. You'll frequently find me crocheting on the beach, drawing inspiration from the breeze, ocean air, nature and the peaceful rhythm of the waves!

In addition to crochet, I make pottery! Creativity and artistry truly flows through everything I do. Whether I'm working with yarn or clay, my intention is always the same. I want to create meaningful, beautiful handmade art that elicits joy to every person who embraces one of my pieces.
